My daughters love it when I make hamburgers  and are also very popular with my friends.  Frozen hamburgers are very convenient, quick and easy, but I prefer to make my own using fresh minced beef.
Preparation time 10 minutes
Cooking time approximately 12 minutes
  • 1lb (500g) lean minced steak
  • 2 level teaspoon salt
  • Ground black pepper
Mix the steak in a large bowl with the salt and ground black pepper.  Divide into 4 portions.  Take each portion and roll into a ball, then press them flat into a hamburger shape about ¾ (2cm) thick.  Brush them with a little oil and place on a hot barbeque and cook for 6 minutes on both sides, or until cooked through.  Serve in lightly toasted baps with onion, lettuce and tomato.  They are also very tasty with relish or tomato ketchup.
